A NEW book reveals some very intimate photographs of everyone’s favourite Queen, Elizabeth II. Here at GB Mag we love all things British, especially the royal family and this close-up look will have all the royalists out there running to the book store. The pictures in the book, titled Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, were released to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year which is soon to come to an end.
After 60 years on the throne it is strange to think that there are still moment’s in Lizzy’s (our nickname for Her Majesty) life that haven’t been snapped by photographers and put in the media. But there are plenty of unseen photographs and all very professional, not a single selfie (a picture taken for use as a profile picture on social media…you know the ones) in the entire book.
But there is more than just royal-watching to be had from these pictures. There is a line-up of celebrities that feature as well, including the Beatles, Marilyn Monroe and past American president JFK. The photographers included are also a star-studded cast including big names such as Annie Leibovitz and Wolfgang Tillmans.
Take a look at some of the majestic moments in the Queen’s life here (pictured). But for the rest of the images you will have to check out the book from editor Reuel Golden and the TASCHEN company.
Next year will be the year of talking about the royal baby (thanks Kate and Wills), but the Queen still has December to bask in her Jubilee glory and this book has been released just in time to wrap up the occasion.
